In my struggle with depression while in the Philippines I asked God to show me a verse that could help me understand where it really comes from.I know God didn't create disease and the enemy is the one who brings disease upon God's people to oppress and destroy their Peace & witness.
Minor Depression also happens through shame or living in sin or when you haven't reached or accomplished a;; your goals.The good news is, God's Word brings healing & life. Satan leads to death Jesus leads to eternal life.After spending some time in prayer, I opened my bible to this:
"Because with lies ye have made the heart of the righteous SAD, whom I have NOT made SAD; and strengthened the hands of the wicked, that he should not return from his wicked way, by promising him life" Ezekiel 13:22-23
Wow!!! What a revelation!!! I get it now..I thought to myself..God created us joyful it is the enemy who makes the heart of the righteous sad. In other words,Satan uses the Mind, to make the heart of the righteous sad who God did not create sad.In other words, God did not create us to be sad. He is Joy & peace & we are created in His image! Satan is a liar and a deciever. He will make suggestions & try to convince us to believe we are not worthy, we do not matter nor make a difference & We don't decerve good things and we are not loved.
So How do we break away from His lies? By speaking to God in prayer and learning to hear His voice! But how do we hear Him?
My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me." John 10:27
So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.Romans 10:17
Keeping God's Word in our hearts and minds fills us with love, hope, peace and joy and sin gives us no rest nor peace only hate and bitterness and emptiness. It is a deception.Temporary pleasure will always lead to nothing!
The Lord showed me the Key to Overcome my minor depression is:
DON'T BELIEVE SATAN'S LIES, EMBRACE GOD'S TRUTH AND LIVE IT.
Samuel 15:23 says Rebelion is as the sin of witchcraft.
When we believe satan's lies we fall under his spell.Therefore, becoming a target and under witchcraft.
To give you a bigger picture! Since the whole world is not abiding in God's Word most of the world is under a spell rightnow because of sin and choosing to believe and live the lies.Because Adam and Eve chose to believe the lies instead of the truth we fell into a curse.Although, we are cursed Jesus came to break that curse on the cross by dying for our sins.(John 3:16)
2 Timothy 2:15 "Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth."
Satan offers counterfeits of everything.
God said men and women should marry and have children.Satan says its okay to marry same sex.Eventhough they cannot bear children.God said the 7th day is the Holy day of rest, Satan says sunday the first day of the week is the holy day of rest or "family day" and it doesn't matter what day you keep holy.God says Jesus is the only way , truth and the life and He who loves Him will keep God's commandments in Exodus 20!
Satan says no! God does not exist be an atheist, satanist, believe in buddahism, etc...
Ephesians 6:11-12 "Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil."For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms."
We are in a war but if we are not armed or ready we will lose our salvation.That gift that was given to us by Jesus Christ on the cross is the gift of eternal life but only when we follow His footsteps and believe in His Word and live what we profess we will be saved forever.
